Date trigger

Hello Shortki,

I'm currently bulding a project with inshort, and I need to make independant subprocesses Inside a common one. Each starting date have to be independant. To do so, I tried using date triggers for each process. But It seems that the starting date is adjusted to the later one, by creating a late start, so all the subprocesses will finish together.
I understand this calculation, but is it possible to create several small processes with independant start and end date, Inside a common process which will take into account the very first start date and the very late date of all of them ? I tried to find the answer in the user guide, but I didn't success.

The idea is explained in the attached file.

For your purposes, you can use fixation of the start date. The start date can be marked as fixed in the card of the object, after which it will be possible to move it to a later date.

planning a project, can I fix the start date of a given process in order to start it not earlier nor later but at that very day?
And can I fix the last day I can undertake a process?

When the start date is fixed, the process will begin no earlier than the set time, but if the predecessors are delayed, the time will be shifted to a later one. The completion date cannot be fixed: if you have a start date and a labor-intensiveness of the process, then the completion date is predetermined, you can plan only the beginning of work and resource workload - the rest is made up by circumstances.

Thank you Shortki for your explanation.

In my case, the problem I met is that when I want to fix a start date for a process (which is a nested diagram), I have "no calendar" in the section of the card. I have fixed the expected time and the resource, and the diagram runs ; I set a calendar for the process in the section "parameters" but I can't in the section "Calendar". I don't see how can I have a calendar to be able to fix a start date. That's why I use date triggers to fix start dates (which may be set later than the begining of the object containing the nested diagram).

Do see where I make a mistake ?

If a process becomes associated with a calendar, the start date is shifted to the nearest working time at a later date, appropriate for the schedule of the calendar. The calendar applies to all the schedules of the object. By the way, if a work resource is assigned, you may no longer need to assign a calendar, the schedule will be taken from the work resource.
