1  General Category / Bug reports / Re: Gantt charts don't appear to show dependencies between linked objects on: January 14, 2016, 11:52:50 PM
I'm still having trouble getting my head around this.

In the simple case I outlined, I've got a few processes linked together. I've analysed as a project, which recommended that I set estimated duration - which I have. I've then rerun the project analysis to verify that the recommendations have been fulfilled.

However, the follow on processes still don't have an actual or planned schedule (they say "no schedule" in the info panel, and I can't set any date by hand).
They also don't appear on the gantt view.

Please, what am I missing?

Thanks.

It would be worth reworking the example file to make that clear Smiley I spent a long time scratching my head about that.

Thanks Wink.

How do I search my projects for objects that contain a given word?

There doesn't appear to be a search option in the menu - is there another way of doing this?

Thanks
Joe

How do the planned completion dates relate to the estimated duration time?
If I've set estimates on the work, shouldn't the competition dates be derived from that data?

I'm struggling with the gantt chart feature (InShort, Mac Version - latest).

I've created diagram with three linked objects:

   1. Common Process -> 2. Common Resource -> 3. Logistic Process.

1 is set with an expected time of 2.17 days, 2 has an extimated time of 2 hours 10 minutes, 3 has an estimated time of 28 days.

When I look at the gantt charge, I see 1 spanning just over 2 days. However 2 is present in the list, but there is not dot or bar on the chart, and the same for 3.

If I manually set 1. to completed, then suddenly 2 appears on the charge, connected to the end of 1.

What's going on. Is this a bug, or is there a feature I'm missing to get it to work?

Thanks,
Joe
6  General Category / Bug reports / Very confused about resources.... on: January 05, 2016, 12:24:05 AM
Just purchased the Mac version of inShort.  User Guide->Projects->Resources->Work Resources makes no sense to me. In 'Assignment' it talks about assignment of resources in the object card - but I can't find any mention of the object card in the application. Where is that supposed to be?

Similarly in the Gantt chart section it says:

"By tapping the object title you activate the panel through which you can:
• open the object card;
• go to the flowchart of the object;
• go to the Gantt chart for the subdiagram;
• remove the object."

Tapping the object title of an item in the gantt chart view doesn't do anything.

Is the manual out of date, or are there bugs in this area.

Please help me understand how this is supposed to work.

Thanks,
Joe
