1  General Category / inShort / Re: Getting started InShort first and then transition to on: November 07, 2017, 10:16:15 pm
Thank you for the appreciation of the application and for a good question. and inShort complement each other, inShort is more convenient at the stage of elaboration and personal research of the project, then the initiative is intercepted by where the teamwork and interaction of the project participants is available.

To transfer a project to, you need to create the project export file in the WFL format in inShort, which is easily imported into
The entire process usually takes less than a minute.

You can always ask for help here or by e-mail, usually within 24 hours I try to give an answer (if it is not so, just duplicate the letter).

Special thanks for understanding, if inShort can be developed on my own, then in the case of I need investments for development.
2  General Category / F.A.Q. / Re: Use of resource pack as folder to group common resources or common processes. on: October 31, 2017, 11:36:27 pm
In the normal course of a project, a folder is used only once to put the project into it. All other nested diagrams must be inside other processes and resources. This is quite normal if a business process associated with a resource is nested in it (Answers 1, 4, 5).

When you split a project into separate diagrams, you sort of lay out the workspaces, which operate with a limited set of resources and must be explicitly represented on the diagram. This separation of the project itself is an important part of planning, in this way you differentiate the levels of competence, detail and responsibility.
Thus, everything that is needed for a process/resource should be represented in the diagram or should be in the diagram embedded in the process/resource (Answers 3, 6).

Do not limit yourself, everything that makes the business process clearer and can be done in the application should be done (Answer 2).
3  General Category / inShort / Re: Preferences doesn't work on: October 05, 2017, 12:30:03 am
Let's clarify the nature of the problem. To add a new work resource, open the Work resources section in the Preferences, click on the "+" in the lower left corner. If after that no new resource record is created, then this is an application error, write, were there any error messages or other visible violations in the work of the application?
4  General Category / Suggestions for improving the program / Re: Font Awesome on: September 28, 2017, 09:48:36 pm
Frankly, I find Font Awesome and all such fonts a strange and situational solution. In web pagination there is a niche where the use of such fonts is justified, but for an application this is too specific and not a universal solution.
In general, I do not welcome when a font is not intended for typing and is used for other purposes outside the text.
5  General Category / Suggestions for improving the program / Re: Independent Projects on: September 28, 2017, 09:47:02 pm
The inShort application is suited for personal use, so it is initially assumed that all projects considered have something in common — the user.
Therefore, the context of execution of all projects and the shared resources are of common nature and are separated only by the boundaries of the folders.
In principle, it is possible to provide a filter that will show the resources used by a particular project, as it is done in, it may partially solve your problem.
6  General Category / Bug reports / Re: inShort using 100%+ of CPU. Draining battery. on: August 11, 2017, 08:02:14 pm
Quite strange, not typical behavior.

Did this behavior occur immediately after installation?
Or after creating/uploading certain diagrams, in this case could you send me their exports?

Is iCloud enabled, if so, try disabling it.
7  General Category / / Re: Queues, search and other features not yet implemented ? (or that I can't find !) on: July 07, 2017, 09:37:34 pm enables collaboration for multiple users, therefore, individual service functions have a significant difference in implementation compared to the inShort application.

In particular, the Queues functionality becomes much richer, and I need some time to work through the concept of multi-user queues. This will not only be a mechanism for ranking current tasks, but also a means of allocating and assigning work to participants in the working group. Also, Queues will become a mechanism for sending notifications about current tasks. Therefore, Queues is an important stage in the subsequent development of the service, which needs to be thought over carefully.

The Task Calendar function also needs to be worked out.

The search in is similar to inShort and is available in reports, you only need to preconfigure any report.

In, there is no tactical coloring and various graphical styles of the diagrams, as drawing the graphics in a browser is not fast enough for these features. Also there are no proxy objects, as they can become a source of problems when working together. Illustrations in PDF format are not supported, as not all browsers support it, by the way, and vice versa, inShort does not work with SVG, since macOS does not have appropriate support.

In other respects, the systems are as much as possible identical.

Yes, it's very simple. Just copy and paste the project folder to a new location.
9  General Category / inShort / Re: Exporting/ printing on: May 19, 2017, 01:04:31 pm
Sorry, you did not say, and I decided that you are talking about the macOS version of the application, since this question appears more often in it.

Using iOS, in the Options menu, select the "Send & Load the diagram" section, where you can always generate a PDF file for the flow diagram, Gantt chart or reports. The versions of the application are functionally identical, but on macOS it is somewhat more convenient to work with diagrams.
10  General Category / F.A.Q. / Re: Going back to the program on: May 17, 2017, 10:37:27 pm
I myself really like tr.en.d as it is, so I do not change it, I just use it every day. Of course, if the application stops running on some new iOS, I will update it, but without modifications and significant changes, I will simply adapt it to the requirements. Otherwise, if you do not use iCloud synchronization (which is not very reliable), then the application works fine.
11  General Category / inShort / Re: Exporting/ printing on: May 17, 2017, 06:09:00 pm
If you save PDF via the printing interface of Mac OS, a PDF file with all the subdiagrams and working links between them will be generated. I did not allocate this export as a separate item, since the standard interface is quite convenient for this purpose, allowing you to select paper size and set of required pages. Also you can copy a part of the diagram and paste it into another application. Most of Apple's applications support inserting PDF data, so in my work I did not feel the need for raster formats, but I'll think about the possibility of exporting the current diagram in PNG or JPG files.
12  General Category / / A closed beta test of the service is started on: March 20, 2017, 04:26:05 pm
Active users of inShort inShort received invitations to closed beta testing of

If you have any questions or you want to join the beta testing of the service, you can contact the developers at

Based on feedback on the weekly work of the service, a decision will be made about the end of the test and the public launch of the project.
13  General Category / inShort / Re: pre-purchase questions on: February 21, 2017, 11:01:08 pm
A general browse though the features, this app seems very nice, however I do have a few questions before I decide to buy it:
1. In stead of drilling down, is it possible to create the tasks etc. and later group them into a higher level?
Yes. You can freely copy and paste parts of the diagram, transferring them between different levels of the hierarchy. This can also be done automatically, but at the cost of loss of schedules.

2. Is it possible use custom pics for the blocks in Diagrams?
Yes. An object can be supplemented with a graphic image from the image library on the device. If the object is large enough to accommodate the image with a reasonable reduction, it will be shown in a blank area of the object.

3. Does a created file sync across devices?  Although I prefer using any NAS drive, but public cloud drives are also acceptable.
Yes, the selected diagrams can be synchronized by means of iCloud, but with some limitations. You can also export diagrams and load them to the application on other devices.

15  General Category / Suggestions for improving the program / Re: Recurring projects, processes on: February 18, 2017, 06:31:32 pm
Iterative process management is a whole science. If everything is done properly, the application will become greatly more difficult in mastering, and it is not the easiest anyway Smiley

So far, I recommend to arrange repetitive processes by copying diagrams and restarting them, in fact it is a simple and effective technique, which has a number of advantages.
